Artist to Watch: Mamus Esiebo Captures Everyday Life in Lagos

Mamus Esiebo is a Lagos-based visual artist known for his striking use of pinstripes, bold colors, and digital-to-traditional techniques. Initially working in graphic design and print production, he transitioned into full-time artistry, blending digital tools like Adobe Illustrator with acrylic painting.

Esiebo’s work captures the vibrancy of everyday life in Lagos, exploring themes of work-life balance, family expectations, and self-identity. His figures exist in idyllic, harmonious settings, reflecting both personal and collective experiences.

His art has been exhibited globally, from Nigeria to the USA, UK, Germany, Hong Kong, and Jamaica. In 2022, his work was featured in Artcurial’s African Contemporary Auction in Paris and is part of The Fondation Gandur Pour L’Art collection in Geneva.
