The concept for this photo series is rooted in the ongoing dismissal and erasure of plus-size models—particularly visibly fat models over a US Size 20—from the fashion industry in this increasingly authoritarian sociopolitical moment. Regressive body politics are back in full force in the United States, so vibrant images that archive the fat form and refuse to hide fat models in drab clothing are especially needed as we continue to see attempts to push fat/disabled people out of public life.
