On Black History Month, Sustain Frame’s founder, Krystal Frame, took the opportunity to say thank you and celebrate the achievements of Black women who are currently making significant contributions in their communities and around the world. In recognition of their accomplishments, Krystal and team put together a gorgeous and intimate gratitude breakfast and invited a small group of Black women to celebrate and honor their accomplishments. As the editor in chief of Womanly, I was honored to be included. We honor and thank Krystal for her work and for curating a space of gratitude. The event facilitated important conversations and connections over lush butter spreads, fancy croissants from L'Appartment 4F, breakfast burritos and bowls from Ursula, coffee from Playground coffee shop in Bedstuy and more. Small tokens of appreciation were also offered by Aplós, Pottery With a Purpose, Prima , and Package Free Shop. We love to see it. The event was held at This Is Franks House in the Clinton Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY on February 16th.
"In today's day and age of social media and technology, we are constantly being pushed into a world where we are connected to everyone, yet we find ourselves more isolated than ever. Spending most days working or trying to survive the man's ups and downs, where can we find time to connect to our local community?
Creating this event served that purpose for me to not only connect with those who around me but also celebrate their wins and contributions they have made toward that same community.”
